Man Crush Monday: George Clooney

Why We Love Him: He may not have been the best Batman, but he has had many roles that were wonderful. He was my favorite in ER way back when, I was pretty sad when he left. I have seen quite a few of his movies and he is just a fantastic actor. A few of my favorites were, Perfect Storm, The Descendants and Monuments Men. This summer he will be in the Disney movie, Tomorrowland. I'm still not 100% sure what the plot of this movie it but the trailers have been interesting and exciting. I'm excited to see what that movie is all about.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Money Monster
  • Hail, Caeser!

Man Crush Monday: Charlie Cox

Why We Love Him: Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock(Daredevil) in the new Netflix show, Daredevil. The show is completely brilliant and unlike anything that Marvel has put out before. It is extremely dark and much more violent and gory than most things on TV. It is a very well written show and Charlie Cox plays the character wonderfully.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • The Defenders (Featuring Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones)

Man Crush Monday: Jared Leto

Why We Love Him: Add him to my long list of sexy men with long hair! Jared Leto was never on my radar until 2013  Oscar season when he was nominated for Dallas Buyers Club. I still have not see that movie but it is one that I am interested in. His band, 30 Seconds to Mars is really good. While I am not a huge follower, I do like his music. I am pretty excited that he is going to play The Joker in the Suicide Squad. He has some big shoes to fill but I think he will be great.

(We don't have a picture of him as the Joker yet, but he did dye his hair for the role)

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Suicide Squad

Man Crush Monday: Logan Lerman

Why We Love Him: He plays one of my favorite characters in my favorite young adult series, Percy Jackson. The books are fantastic and deserve so much more press than what they get. Logan Lerman fit the Percy Jackson mold fairly well. He was one of the characters that I thought they got right. The movies were OK but the books so much better. I didn't see him in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I heard great things. I really hope that we start to see more of him in the future.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • The Wife

Man Crush Monday: Jason Momoa

Why We Love Him: I have to admit that I know pretty much nothing about this man but boy is he sexy! I know that he plays or played a pretty important character in Game of Thrones. I say played because I have never watched that show but I do know that people die all the time. I also know that he is set to play Aquaman in the new Superman/Batman movie. I like Batman but other than that, I'm not excited about anything DC.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Sugar Mountain
  • Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice
  • The Bad Batch
  • Justice League Part 1
  • Aquaman

Man Crush Monday: Richard Madden

Why We Love Him: I recently saw the new Cinderella. It was fantastic! Richard Madden played the prince and he had some really great character development. It wasn't like the cartoon version where he barely spoke. This role gave him an actual voice in the film. Other than this, I haven't seen Richard Madden in any of his other work. I guess he was pretty big in Game of Thrones. but I never got into that. If it ever goes on Netflix I will watch it!

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Bastille Day
  • Lady Chatterley's Lover

Man Crush Monday: Dylan O'Brien

Why We Love Him: I chose Dylan O'Brien as this weeks MCM because he is rumored to be the new Spider-man. Of course, that hasn't been confirmed yet but he could be a good fit depending on the plot of the movie. Previously, he has been in one major franchise, The Maze Runner. These are fantastic books and the first movie was pretty great. I am about half way through the series and it keeps getting better.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials

Man Crush Monday: Edward Norton

Why We Love Him: I thought he played The Hulk/Bruce Banner very well in the 2008. However, my favorite role of his was in The Italian Job. That is one of my all time favorite movies! He has also gotten a lot of publicity and an Oscar nomination for his role in Birdman. Seeing the clips on the Oscars tonight, it looks like he did a fantastic job. There seemed to be a lot of passion that shown through in that movie.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Sausage Party (with James Franco, among many others)

Man Crush Monday: George Eads

Why We Love Him: Tonight (2/15) was George Eads's last episode on CSI. His character Nick Stokes will no longer be on the show. It was a very touching tribute to the character tonight. I am pleased with how his years on the show were summed up in the finale. I am extremely sad because he was always one of my favorites! Even though I am very sad, he has been on this show for 15 seasons. I'm sure he wants to do new things with his career. I'll miss him next season! :(

Upcoming Role(s):
Nothing yet according to IMDB. Hopefully we will see him back on our TV screens soon!

Man Crush Monday: Ben McKenzie

Why We Love Him: He plays the young James Gordon on Gotham. It is an awesome show and it's getting better as the season progresses. Ben McKenzie gives a very convincing performance of the man that we all know from the Batman movies. He does the character a lot of justice from what we already know. The show does a great job of showcasing the character that we have already come to know and love.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Gotham Season 2

Man Crush Monday: Hayden Christensen

Hayden Christensen~

Hayden Christensen Picture

Why We Love Him: Even though Star Wars Episodes 1-3 were not the greatest, Anakin became my favorite in the 3rd episode. I always like the bad guys and this was no exception. He had more character development and more purpose when he started to become evil. Since then, he didn't really do anything to excited except the movie, Jumper. He acted much better in that movie and it was very entertaining. I think that he shows a lot of promise and hopefully he finds better roles.

Upcoming Role(s)~
  • Outcast (with Nicolas Cage)
  • 90 Minutes in Heaven

Man Crush Monday: Anthony Mackie

Anthony Mackie~

Why We Love Him: I think the best part about Anthony Mackie is that he is just so excited about Marvel. Every interview that I have seen of him, he is just in awe of the fact that he is in a Marvel movie. He seems to genuinely appreciate the fact that he was chosen for such a big role as Falcon. Seeing him so excited makes me excited for what is to to come for the character.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Our Brand is Crisis
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron (rumored)
  • Triple Nine
  • Untitled Christmas Eve Project (with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen)

Man Crush Monday: Shemar Moore

Shemar Moore:

Why We Love Him~ I just got into Criminal Minds thanks to Netflix. Why I never watched this amazing show before, is beyond me! Shemar Moore is an amazing human being in real life. He takes his celebrity status and uses it for good. He has a clothing line called, Baby Girl; see link here Baby Girl. All proceeds go to benefit The National MS Society. He posts all about this on his Instagram and seems really sweet to all of his fans.

Upcoming Role(s)~

Man Crush Monday: Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender:

Why We Love Him: He makes a really great, young Magneto. That is the only role that I have seen him in and he's just really great. He has a little bit of evil in him but at the same time has a lot of heart. He's another one of those actors who has incredible, blue eyes! You just can't help but to look at them. I'm excited for the next X-Men movie with him in it!

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Slow West
  • Trespass Against Us
  • Macbeth
  • Untitled Terrence Malick Project (Lots of amazing people in this including, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett)

Man Crush Monday: Chris Pine

Chris Pine:

Why We Love Him: The first movie I ever saw of his was Princess Diaries 2, which I didn't even remember he was in until I went on IMDB. The next movie I saw of his was Star Trek: Into the Darkness. I never saw the first one because I am not into Star Trek at all. I bought the second one because I knew Benedict Cumberbatch was the villain.  Fast forward to Into the Woods and I was really excited to hear how Chris Pine's singing voice sounded. I didn't even know that he could sing and I was not disappointed!

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Z for Zachariah
  • The Finest Hours
  • Mantivities
  • Star Trek 3

Man Crush Monday: Dan Stevens

Why We Love Him: Honestly I had no idea who this guy was before Sunday. I went and saw the last Night at the Museum movie and Dan Stevens was in it. He played one of the few new characters in the movie, Sir Lancelot. His character plays a pretty big role in the new movie and he was very nice to look at! I guess he was in a couple of seasons of Dowton Abbey too. Other than that he was in The Fifth Estate with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Criminal Activities
  • The Ticket

Man Crush Monday: Lee Pace

Lee Pace:

Why We Love Him: I have to admit that I had never heard of Lee Pace before The Hobbit. I guess he was in one of the Twilight movies but I haven't watched those movies since they first came out. We can just forget Twilight and skip right to his amazing performance in The Hobbit. He makes a perfect Thranduil, he is so regal and flawless. His piercing, blue eyes really make the character too. Then he plays Ronin in Guardians of the Galaxy which is a great role as well. I could have used a little bit more of him on the screen though.

Nerdy Role(s): Pushing Daisies (never watched this but it has a following on Tumblr), The Hobbit Trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • The Mindy Project
  • Revolt
  • Icon
  • Halt and Catch Fire (TV series)

Man Crush Monday: James Franco

James Franco:

Why We Love Him: James Franco may be one of the strangest actors out there. He is very eccentric and does things his own way. He makes really great movies among the other million things that he does. He dabbles in pretty much everything in the entertainment field among many other things. He is an author, director, producer, teacher, and artist. He has a huge list of projects going at one time. It's amazing that he has time to do all of it.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • The Interview
  • Black Dog, Red Dog (actor and director)
  • Don Quixote: The Ingenious Gentleman of La Mancha
  • I Am Michael
  • True Story

Man Crush Monday: Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal:

Why We Love Him: He is such an involved actor. He transforms himself into his characters in no way that I have ever seen before. In Nightcrawler especially, the transformation was like night and day. It is so refreshing to see an actor take on roles so intensely. My personal favorite movie of his was Zodiac. I love that genre of movie and I am very interested in crime movies. Jake Gyllenhall is fantastic in every movie that I have seen of his, I know that he will continue to choose amazing roles.

Upcoming Role(s):
  • Nailed
  • Southpaw
  • Everest
  • Demolition

Man Crush Monday: Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp:

Why We Love Him: This man has done so many iconic characters over his career. All of his characters have been vastly different from role to role and I think that is what still makes Johnny Depp relevant today. My favorite has to be Captain Jack Sparrow. I had a love and interest in pirates before I ever saw the movies. To watch Johnny Depp bring pirates into our living rooms was astounding. His career has lasted such a long time and he shows no sign of stopping. I am always excited for what he is going to do next.

Upcoming Role(s):

  • Into The Woods
  • London Fields
  • Mortdecai (With Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor)
  • Black Mass (With Benedict Cumberbatch)
  • Yoga Hosers
  • Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
