James McAvoy: What a perfect person to play young Charles Xavier in X-Men.
The first movie I ever saw him in was Wanted (2008). I love that movie and feel that James' character was excellently portrayed. James McAvoy is a brilliant actor and he picks very interesting roles for himself. I was very excited when he signed on for the new X-Men movies. He brings such life into Xavier and he really makes him more relate-able. His new interpretation of the character really makes you see the original in a new light as well. You don't just see this very accomplished professor anymore, you see a mutant being with flaws and problems just like the rest of us. That really shows through in the new X-Men: Days of Future Past. You see a whole different side of Xavier that is never shown in the previous movies. James McAvoy really shows the true pain that his character is feeling. It is a wonderful performance that I don't think many others could pull off.
James McAvoy has a few interesting roles coming up and I'm really looking forward to all of them.
The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them. This movie debuted at the Cannes Film Festival to pretty good reviews. It is a story of a young couple's relationship told through both sides of the relationship. Not much plot is written on IMDB but it is listed as a drama instead of just a romantic movie.
What I am most excited about is Frankenstein! James McAvoy plays Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe plays Igor. It is going to be awesome because I love both of those actors and it should be a very interesting movie. I can't wait to see how both of them portray their characters.
The last movie that he has slated is X-Men: Apocalypse. I don't know much about the comic book, except that it is one of the more exciting and famous stories. If the Days of Future Past end credits are any indication of Apocalypse, it is going to be an awesome movie!
These are the only movies listed for James McAvoy for now, but I bet he has a lot more coming. I will look forward to following his career.
